This is a mix of Lilium lancifolium hybrids, Lilium
tigrinum, the tiger lily. There are various Tigrinum
hybrids from a wide assortment of crosses, many pastels,
with some upright flowers. The Tiger Lily is an Asiatic
Lilium that grows up to 2-5 feet tall and it forms a bulb.
Good for general landscaping and for the late Summer
garden.
Tiger Lilies are orange, like tigers, but instead of
stripes they have black spots. They predominantly flower
in July or August , 6-12". The flowers are
hermaphrodite, they have both male and female organs.
Lily bulbs never go fully dormant, so they must be
treated carefully.
Hardiness zones 3-8, (-37°C/-35°F, -10°C/15°F) in
Winter. Tiger Lillies like lots of sunlight, average soil,
they tolerate a wide range of pH, and prefer moderately
moist conditions. Tiger Lillies are considered a field
plant, and should receive 6 or more hours of full sun.
Water regularly; do not overwater. It thrives even in
poor soil, although most Lilies benefit from an amended
soil that is loose and well drained. Often nothing needs
to be done to the soil at all, as Tiger Lillies are quite
forgiving.
