Cornus Florida Rubra is also named Flowering dogwood or simply Dogwood and belongs to the Cornaceae family. Native to Missouri, it grows in Eastern North America, but is rarely seen in the wild.

| germination | Soak the seeds in water for 24hrs. Sow the Cornus Florida Rubra seeds on the surface of a well drained seed sowing mix at about 12°C. Cornus Florida Rubra seeds will usually germinate in 90-730 days, but even under good conditions germination may be erratic. Germination can take a long time. Be patient! Alternatively you can cold stratify the seeds for 120 days and plant them outside next spring, making sure to protect the seeds with a screen, or the rodents could eat them. You could also sow the seeds directly outside in the fall. |
