Serenoa Repens Silver
Serenoa repens is the most common palm in the U.S. The leaf stems are about 2 ft (0.6 m) long and sharply saw-toothed hence its popular name: Saw Palmetto.
It is a shrubby palm that grows up 5 to 10 feet, occasionally forming a trunk.
The fruits are round, black when ripe and about an inch in diameter.
Saw Palmetto resists from ?4 to 36 ø C (25 ? 97 ø F).
Serenoa Repens grows best in dry, well-drained soils and warm-temperate, or humid-subtropical climates.
It grows in part shade/part sun.
Soil tolerances: alkaline; clay; sand; acidic; loam.
