Agave Victoriae-Reginae
Agave victoriae-reginae is a species of the Agave family. It is named after Queen Victoria who ruled England in the 19th century. the plant is native of the Chihuahuan Desert in Mexico. Agave victoriae-reginae forms compact rosettes of about 30 cm. The rosette is composed of short dark green leaves that are rigid, thick and triangular. There are no spines on the leaf margins unlike most agaves. Its leaves have white stripes on the side that make the species easily identifiable. It is very popular as an ornamental plant. When grown under favorable conditions, the plant has the appearance of a very regular geometric polyhedron. This agave can hybridize with other species of agave. It is perfectly acclimatized in the gardens of the Riviera. Hardiness zone: 9-11
