The blue poppy of the Himalayas, also called blue poppy of Tibet and blue poppy of the Himalayas. Originally from Yarlung Zangbo Gorges, in southeastern Tibet, the blue poppy grows at an altitude of 3120 to 4000 meters. This flower has long been known for its medicinal properties. Native to Tibet, it can reach a height of 1.5 meters if it is well exposed in mid - shade or in sun if the soil is well humid. The flowering period is from late June to late July.
