Muhlenbergia Rigens, commonly known as Deergrass, is a plant belonging to the family Poaceae. It is a perennial herb that is native to Southern California. It blooms usually between June and September. It is drought resistant and does not require much water.
Muhlenbergia Rigens has a long life compared to most other plant species and has a moderate growth rate. It will reach up to 4.5 feet high.
The stems are thin, narrow and spiky.
The foliage is dense and bushy. His clumps reach up to 6 feet wide and are characteristic of the plant. Muhlenbergia Rigens can be found on sandy or gravelly soils. It can withstand periodic flooding, but it cannot tolerate poorly drained soils.
