Digitalis purpurea apricot is a biennial that grows to 3-5 feet tall and is native to Europe. Excellent for the border in sun or part shade, and very useful as a cut flower. In early to mid-Summer, it produces tall spikes crowded with flowers in shades of creamy apricot above a rosette of dark green leaves. Leaves are produced in the first year and the tall spikes of flowers the second year. Hardiness zones 4-10, (-32øC/-25øF, 1øC/35øF) in Winter. Foxglove prefers acidic, moist, well-drained soil that is enriched with humus. They will grow in most soils and prefer part shade. Keeping this plant watered will result in better flowering and healthier foliage.
