Cautleya Spicata, commonly known as Himalayan Ginger , Cautleya robusta, Roscoea spicata is native to the Himalayan Region (Northern India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Tibet and in the Chinese provinces of Guizhou, Sichuan and Yunnan). The plant is a hardy medium-height ginger that can grow up to 70-80 cm.
Cautleya Spicata has a beautiful exotic inflorescence with yellow-orange flowers. They are highlighted by bright red bracts that surround the sepals. Himalayan ginger flowers appear in June.
Cautleya Spicata needs a rich and moist soil that drains in a little sun to bright shade in order to grow.
