Common name | corkscrew vine |
---|---|
Species | Vigna caracalla |
Germination | The Vigna Caracalla seeds need to be scarified first. Then soak them in warm water for about 12h hres. The seed should plump up considerably with soaking. Then, put the seed into a moist paper towel and into a sealed baggie. Keep them at a temperature of about 22-24øC (75-80øF). They should germinate in about 10 days. Seeds can also be sown outdoors in spring where germination will occur in 10-15 days. Indoors or outside, sow the seeds at a depth of 4 times their own size. Once you see any seedlings, prick them up and plant them in a pot filled with a good potting soil. Plant them outside next spring. Germination can take longer. Be patient! |
