Iris Crocea
Iris crocea est probablement originaire du Kashmir. La plante atteind 1 mètre de haut.
Les fleurs sont constituées de 3 sépales et 3 pétales. De larges fleurs d'un jaune doré, atteignant 12-18 cm de diamètre, naissent au sommet de hautes tiges, en Juin.
Cet Iris possède de magnifiques longues feuilles en forme de sabre, atteignant 60-90 cm. La plante se propage au moyen de ses rhizomes, situés sous la surface du sol.
Zones de rusticité 3-9, (-37°C/-35°F, -5°C/25°F) en Hiver. Iris crocea peut se développer dans n'importe quel bon sol. L'Iris pousse bien dans un sol lourd, limoneux et à une position ensoleillée. Arrosez régulièrement sans trop arroser.

| Germination | First, you can scarify the seeds to try to speed up germination. For faster germination, soak the seeds in slightly hot water for 24-48 hours, followed by 3 months cold stratification before sowing, 1/4 inch deep, in your soil. Keep damp soil, not soaking wet. Keep pot in warm situation 20øC/68øF. Germination usually takes several months. It can be more, depending on their degree of unbroken dormancy, don't give up. |

Chip the seeds with a sharp knife or make a few swipes with a sharp edged file or use sandpaper to allow moisture being more readily absorbed. |
