Usage thérapeutique | Echinacea has been used for virus infections such as the common cold and flu. It is used to strengthen the immune system. It has also been used for returning vaginal fungal infections ("yeast infections") along with antifungal products applied to the vaginal area. |
Germination | After stratifying, expose flats or pots to warmer temperatures to allow for emergence of the seedlings. Germination generally occurs ten to twenty days after the stratification process. |
Scarification / Stratification | Requires light and cold stratification (pre-chilling) for seed germination. Using deep containers to allow for good root development, fill with a prepared soil mix, and plant seeds in flats or pots, barely covering the seed with soil. Moisten, cover, and refrigerate at 40-50 degrees F. E. angustifolia requires at least twenty-one days of cold stratification. |
