Calliandra calothyrsus
Calliandra calothyrsus est un arbuste héliophile pouvant atteindre 4 à 6 m de haut. Il est originaire d’Amérique centrale. Il supporte des périodes sèches de 4 mois et des sols acides.
Fleurs à étamines longues et rouges. Floraison de février à mars. Fruits en forme de gousses plates, linéaires, étroites à la base, déhiscentes et longues de 8 à 11 cm.

| Scarification / Stratification | Seed requires scarification. Good results are achieved by soaking seed in cold water for 48 hours. Hot water treatment can be used but there is a risk of killing seed through excessive exposure to high temperature. Mechanical scarification is also used. |
