Dasylirion Wheeleri
Dasylirion Wheeleri, also known as Desert Spoon, is very similar to Yucca. It is a tall plant native to southeastern United States and northern Mexico. Its sturdy trunk can reach up to 5 feet high and is topped by a large crown of bluish green-lined leaves with thorns.
Dasylirion Wheeleri needs water and sun but is very resistant to drought and severe frosts.
In colder regions, growing in pots is better to go for shelter during the winter.
Dasylirion offers an amazing decorative effect. It is easily implemented into contemporary, Mediterranean and exotic gardens.
This plant grows slowly and will reach 6.5 feet after many years.
